TENDERLOIN

The Tenderloin was added to District 5 in 2022. Dean worked in the TL for years as a tenant rights attorney and knows the community well. In the face of significant public health and public safety challenges, the Tenderloin is an amazing working class neighborhood with incredible residents, small businesses and community organizations, and a deep history of activism, art, culture, and diversity. Dean will continue to work with residents to promote community-led positive changes, including block parties, festivals, the Golden Gate Greenway, traffic calming, tree planting, street violence intervention programs, trauma response resources, overdose prevention sites, small business grants, community ambassadors on every block, and other investments in this community.
