Bustling, central and transit-rich, Hayes Valley was an ideal place to implement Shared Spaces during the pandemic and get the community connected. Dean has worked with the community on traffic calming, street team response in the neighborhood, opening a grocery store, reinstating the 21 Hayes bus line, and creating housing for seniors and unhoused youth in Hayes Valley.
Established Car-Free Hayes during the pandemic and saved it when MTA tried to shut it down
Negotiated deal for affordable housing at 600 McAllister as part of 98 Franklin development package
Raised funds to finance new educator housing projects that will create 135 affordable homes for teachers
Fought for funding to retime dozens of intersections along the Fell St and Oak St corridors to include lengthening pedestrian crossing time and slowing the vehicle progression speed.

Brought back the 21 Hayes after it was suspended indefinitely
Broke ground on affordable Homeless Youth Housing at 78 Haight and advocating for affordable housing on the City owned site at Parcel K
