HOMELESSNESS
Under Dean’s leadership, District 5 has seen a 21% reduction in street homelessness. Dean believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home and nobody should be sleeping on our streets, especially while over 40,000 homes sit vacant in our city every night. Dean’s legislative work has stopped thousands of evictions, preventing homelessness. He’s expanded shelter and supportive housing opportunities to make sure people have a roof over their heads, and the mental health and addiction services and treatment they need to stay housed and thrive.
